plaintext JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for performing all aspects of cytology processing, preparation, and staining. The Cytotechnologist will screen gynecological (PAP) and non-gynecological slides, conduct molecular testing on PAP vials, and perform grossing. The role requires maintaining computerized patient records and assisting with specimen collection as requested.
Key Responsibilities - Perform all aspects of cytology processing, preparation, and staining. - Screen PAP and non-GYN slides. - Conduct molecular testing on PAP vials. - Perform grossing of specimens. - Screen an average of 40-80 slides per day, adhering to CAP and Pathologist limits. - Maintain computerized patient records. - Assist in specimen collection as requested. - Ensure diagnoses are consistently within one grade of Pathologist or Consultant diagnosis.
Schedule / Shift Monday - Friday
Required Qualifications - Graduate from an Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) accredited school of cytotechnology or other organization approved by Health and Human Services, or meet other CAP qualifications for a Cytotechnologist position. - Associate degree required.
Experience - At least 2 years of experience as a Cytotechnologist. - Knowledgeable of all aspects of the cytotechnology department. - Experience screening an average of 60-80 slides per day.
