  • Job Summary
    The Mammography Technologist performs diagnostic breast imaging procedures to aid in the detection and diagnosis of breast disease. This role ensures patient safety, provides compassionate care, and maintains compliance with hospital protocols, regulatory standards, and quality assurance guidelines.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Perform mammography exams according to physician orders and ACR standards
    2. Prepare patients by explaining procedures, positioning, and ensuring comfort and safety
    3. Operate mammography equipment and monitor image quality during scans
    4. Maintain patient safety including radiation protection and screening for contraindications
    5. Collaborate with radiologists to support diagnostic interpretation
    6. Perform equipment checks and quality control to ensure optimal performance
    7. Assist with training and orientation of new staff or students

    Required Qualifications
    1. Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
    2. Completion of an accredited Mammography training program
    3. Certification by the ARRT in Radiography and Mammography
    4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    5. Strong knowledge of mammography safety protocols and patient care standards
    6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
    2. Experience in hospital or outpatient imaging settings
    3. Familiarity with advanced breast imaging techniques (digital breast tomosynthesis, stereotactic biopsy)

    Certifications
    1. ARRT (Radiography and Mammography) – required
    2. BLS certification – required

    Note- Travel Experience Required
