  • Job Summary  
    The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. This role develops individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing function, educates patients and families, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Conduct evaluations to diagnose speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
    2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
    3. Provide therapy to improve communication, cognitive-linguistic skills, and swallowing function.
    4. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
    5. Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress in compliance with organizational standards.
    6. Educate patients and families on therapy techniques and strategies to support communication and swallowing.
    7. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
    8. Participate in discharge planning and provide recommendations for continued therapy or support services.
    9. Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
    2. Current Speech Language Pathologist license in [state/region].
    3. Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in speech therapy within the past 2 years.
    4. Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
    5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Experience in inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation settings.
    2. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
    3. Advanced training in swallowing disorders or cognitive-linguistic therapy.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) – required or preferred depending on facility.
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) – preferred or required depending on facility.
