Job Summary
The Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical/Telemetry provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with diverse medical diagnoses. This role involves monitoring patient conditions, administering treatments, and managing cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment. The RN collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and report changes promptly.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Provide wound care, IV therapy, and post-operative care.
- Coordinate patient care with physicians and other healthcare team members.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Manage multiple patients with diverse medical diagnoses.
- Monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment.
- Recognize and respond to abnormal heart rhythms or emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
- COVID-19 vaccination required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

- Prior experience in medical-surgical or telemetry units.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required.
