  • Job Summary:
    We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist for a contract role based in Boston, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages in a clinical environment. Comfort and experience working with infants, children, and adults is essential.
    Monday through Friday 2:30pm to 6:30pm.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Perform venous blood collection using standard needle and syringe or multi-tube needle holder.
    2. Conduct capillary blood collection for direct testing or tube collection.
    3. Draw blood samples from infants, pediatric, and adult patients with care and proficiency.
    4. Execute heel stick procedures accurately and efficiently.
    5. Ensure specimens meet testing requirements: correct tubes, adequate volume, and proper handling.
    6. Follow strict specimen labeling and handling protocols.
    7. Verify patient identity accurately before performing procedures.
    8. Maintain and restock phlebotomy supplies regularly.
    9. Promptly report inventory shortages or equipment issues.

    Required Qualifications:
    1. Proven experience performing venipuncture and capillary procedures across all patient age groups.
    2. Skilled in heel stick blood collection techniques.
    3. Thorough knowledge of specimen handling, labeling, and processing standards.
    4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
    5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical team.
    6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Previous experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.

    Certifications:
    1. Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification preferred.
