    JOB SUMMARY
    Provides direct patient care within the Neuro Med/Surg unit, adhering to established nursing standards and hospital policies. This role focuses on delivering competent and compassionate care to patients requiring neurological and general medical-surgical interventions.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological conditions and general medical-surgical needs.
    • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social status.
    • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
    • Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
    • Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning.
    • Perform hourly safety rounds and bedside shift reports with patients.
    • Collaborate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
    • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.

    Schedule / Shift
    • 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

    Required Qualifications
    • Must possess current RN license in the state of practice.
    • BLS certification required (can be obtained upon hire).
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification required (can be obtained upon hire).

    Experience
    • Previous experience in a Neuro Med/Surg setting preferred.

    Skills
    • Proficiency in performing nursing assessments and interventions for neurological and med/surg patients.
    • Ability to administer medications and treatments accurately.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively within a team setting.

    • Meditech

    Patient Population
    • Adult patients requiring neurological and general medical-surgical care.

    Unit / Specialty
    • Neuro Med/Surg (4th floor)

    Floating / On-Call
    • Required to float to like units as patient care needs dictate.
    • Expected to work every other weekend and Holidays in rotation with hospital employees.
    • Must work 4 weekend shifts every 4-week scheduling period.
