JOB SUMMARY Seeking a skilled and experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist to join a dynamic team within a leading healthcare facility. This role involves assisting physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
Unit / Specialty Cath Lab / Interventional Cardiology
Key Responsibilities • Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. • Operate and maintain specialized cath lab equipment, including IVUS, Shockwave, DFR, FFR, Rotablator, IABP, Impella, and TVP. • Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety. • Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamics during interventions. • Administer medications and contrast agents as directed. • Document procedures accurately in the EPIC Cupid system. • Participate in team-based care, collaborating with RNs and Lead Techs. • Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols. • Respond to emergency situations within the cath lab.
Schedule / Shift 4 x 10-hour shifts per week, with call rotation.
Required Qualifications • Must have Critical Care / Cath Lab experience. • Experience in Right Heart Cath (RHC) / Left Heart Cath (LHC), Complex Interventions, and Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) procedures. • Experience with TAVR, TMVR (Mitral Clips), Watchman, PFO closure, ASD / VSD closure, TVP placement, Impella CP & RP, and IABP procedures.
Experience • Proven experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting is required. • Critical care experience is required. • Structural Heart experience is desired but not required.
Certifications • BLS certification required. • ACLS certification required. • RCIS certification is required for Technologists.
EMR / Systems • EPIC Cupid for documentation.
Unit / Specialty • Cardiac Cath Lab procedures include: RHC/LHC, Complex PCI, CTO, TAVR, TMVR (Mitral Clips), Watchman, PFO closure, ASD / VSD closure, TVP placement, Impella CP & RP, IABP. • The unit features 3 Cath Labs (2 Dedicated Cath Labs / 1 Hybrid OR). • Designated as a Level 1 Cardiac Care facility and a Hub for Cardiac Care.
Patient Population Adult patients requiring diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
Patient Ratios 1:1 staffing during procedures.
Unit Staffing Ideal staffing includes a 3-4 person team consisting of 2 Techs and 2 RNs, supported by Lead Tech and unit secretaries.
Floating / On-Call On-call rotation is required. Floating policy is not applicable.
