# Key Responsibilities • Prepare the operating room by organizing and setting up surgical equipment and instruments. • Assist surgeons and surgical teams by anticipating their needs and providing necessary instruments and supplies during procedures. • Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques throughout surgical interventions. • Position patients safely and appropriately for surgical procedures. • Monitor the patient's condition and surroundings during surgery, reporting any changes to the surgical team. • Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after procedures. • Perform scrub duties as directed by the surgeon. • Assist with time-out procedures and patient identification checks. • Complete necessary documentation related to surgical procedures and patient care.
# Schedule / Shift • Typically 8-hour shifts, may include nights, weekends, and holidays. • On-call duties may be required.
# Required Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required. • Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent relevant experience. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
# Experience • Previous experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
# Skills • Proficient in sterile technique and aseptic principles. • Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment. • Strong understanding of surgical procedures. • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
