Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray and other imaging equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions. This role requires expertise in patient positioning, radiation safety, and image quality to provide accurate diagnostic images in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Position patients properly and operate imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images.
- Follow radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self.
- Verify patient identification and review medical histories related to imaging procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Assist radiologists and other healthcare professionals during specialized imaging procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate radiology equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort during imaging procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current certification and licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent).
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, anatomy, and radiation safety.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in multiple imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy).
- Prior hospital or outpatient imaging experience.
Certifications:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required.
- Current state license (if applicable).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
