JOB SUMMARY
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a nursing home setting is responsible for delivering high-quality care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living and ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role supports the nursing staff by monitoring residents’ conditions, reporting changes, and maintaining a clean and supportive environment in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer call lights and respond to resident needs promptly
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including toileting, transferring, bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Report any changes in resident condition to the nurse
- Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and other relevant health data
- Ensure timely and compassionate care for all residents
- Report any allegations of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation to the charge nurse
- Perform other duties as assigned by nursing or supervisory staff
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Must hold and maintain current CNA certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience preferred
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, resident-focused environment
