JOB SUMMARY Provides direct patient care and assists surgical teams in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications. - Arrange equipment and ensure it is functioning correctly. - Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operative and diagnostic procedures. - Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments, sponges, and sutures. - Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic techniques. - Perform surgical scrub duties. - Assist with wound management and dressing application. - Transfer patients to and from the operating room. - Participate in patient care conferences and care planning. - Document patient care activities.
Schedule / Shift Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays as required.
Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED.
Experience - Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
Certifications - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Skills - Proficient in sterile techniques and aseptic procedures. - Knowledge of surgical instruments and their uses. - Ability to anticipate surgical team needs. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
