  • Job Summary
    A Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing preventive oral care services to patients under the supervision of a licensed dentist. The role focuses on maintaining oral health by performing cleanings, educating patients on proper oral hygiene, and assisting in the prevention and treatment of oral diseases.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
    2. Conduct oral health assessments, including reviewing medical history and examining gums and teeth.
    3. Take and develop dental X-rays as required.
    4. Apply preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants.
    5. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and preventive care.
    6. Document patient treatment plans, clinical findings, and procedures accurately in dental records.
    7. Assist dentists during procedures when required.
    8. Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained according to infection control standards.
    9. Monitor patient comfort and address concerns during dental procedures.
    10. Maintain compliance with state dental regulations and clinic protocols.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
    2. Active state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
    3. Certification in CPR/BLS.
    4. Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and infection control protocols.
    5. Strong communication and patient education skills.
    6. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting.
    2. Familiarity with electronic dental record systems.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. CPR/BLS certification – required.
