  • Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to provide high-quality bedside care for pre- and post-surgical patients in an acute care setting. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment, medication administration, care coordination, and patient education. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to delivering safe and effective patient care.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
    • Provide direct nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients
    • Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications in accordance with clinical standards
    • Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any adverse reactions or changes in patient condition
    • Perform clinical procedures such as dressing changes, catheter insertion, and IV initiation
    • Operate, adjust, and monitor specialized medical equipment, documenting measurements accurately
    • Participate in discharge planning and care transitions with the interdisciplinary team
    • Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post-hospital care
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the electronic medical record system
    • Adhere to established nursing practices, safety standards, and organizational protocols

    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    • Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience in a comparable acute care setting
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Clinical experience managing patients with complex diagnoses, including oncology, step-down level care, and sickle cell disease
    • Proficiency in electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
    • Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Chemotherapy certification
    • Experience providing care in high-acuity Medical-Surgical units

    Certifications
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
    • Chemotherapy Certification – Preferred
