  • Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced Histologist to support laboratory operations by accurately and efficiently performing tissue embedding and microtomy. This position is primarily focused on training three new staff members, ensuring high-quality, consistent histological practices are maintained throughout the department.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Embed tissue specimens accurately and efficiently according to standard laboratory procedures.
    • Perform high-quality microtomy on a variety of tissue types.
    • Serve as a trainer and mentor to new staff members, providing hands-on instruction and guidance.
    • Maintain clean, organized workspaces and adhere to all laboratory safety and quality standards.
    • Ensure all documentation and labeling are completed with accuracy.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve basic histology equipment and technique issues.
    • Collaborate with lab management to assess trainee progress and provide feedback.
    Required Qualifications
    • Proven experience in tissue embedding and microtomy.
    • Strong understanding of histology lab procedures and quality assurance standards.
    • Ability to effectively train and mentor new staff.
    • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    • Previous experience in a training or mentoring role within a laboratory setting.
    • Familiarity with a variety of tissue types and embedding techniques.

    Certifications (if any)
    • ASCP certification (HT or HTL) preferred but not required.
