  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a Clinical Prior Authorization (PA) Pharmacist to review and evaluate medication prior authorization requests. This role ensures therapies are appropriate, safe, and cost-effective while adhering to clinical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to make informed decisions in a structured review environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Review and evaluate prior authorization requests for medications to ensure clinical appropriateness.
    • Assess requests based on established clinical guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure safe and cost-effective therapy recommendations.
    • Document decisions and rationale accurately in the system.
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers and internal teams to clarify authorization requests.
    • Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and organizational standards.
    • Stay updated with current clinical guidelines and pharmacy practices.
    • Support operational workflows and meet productivity and quality expectations.

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
    • Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in AZ or TX.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a pharmacist.
    • Strong knowledge of clinical guidelines and medication management.
    • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
    • Strong communication and documentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in prior authorization or managed care pharmacy settings.
    • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in pharmacy operations.
