    JOB SUMMARY
    The Mammography Technician is responsible for performing mammography examinations using specialized X-ray equipment. This role involves patient care, accurate positioning, image acquisition, and quality control to ensure diagnostic imaging for breast health screenings and diagnostics.

    Key Responsibilities
    - Perform mammography procedures according to established protocols and physician orders.
    - Position patients accurately and comfortably to obtain optimal images of breast tissue.
    - Operate mammography equipment safely and effectively, adhering to radiation safety standards.
    - Conduct quality control checks on mammography equipment and images.
    - Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation in the PACS system.
    - Provide patient education regarding the procedure and post-procedure care.
    - Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate patient care.
    - Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

    Required Qualifications
    - High school diploma or equivalent.
    - Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
    - Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography (RT(M)).
    - State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, if required.
    - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    Experience
    - Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist.

    - BLS

    Skills
    - Proficient in mammography techniques and patient positioning.
    - Knowledge of radiation safety principles.
    - Familiarity with mammography equipment and quality control procedures.
    - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    - Attention to detail and accuracy.

    EMR / Systems
    Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) is expected.
