Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist performs healthcare services utilizing ultrasound technology to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease states. This role involves conducting ultrasound procedures, producing high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The technologist also performs equipment quality control procedures and reports deficiencies to supervisors, contributing to safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images.
- Assist physicians and radiologists in the interpretation of ultrasound results.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies.
- Conduct required equipment quality control procedures and promptly report deficiencies.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
- Apply professional knowledge and skills to deliver compassionate, efficient, and accurate care.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment plans.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Diploma from a certified school of radiologic technology.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Ultrasound Tech license.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Healthcare.
- Experience serving as a Lead Ultrasound Technologist.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required.
- ARRT Ultrasound Tech License – Required.
