Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses in delivering high-quality patient care. The Medical Assistant will perform both administrative and clinical duties, ensuring smooth daily operations in the healthcare setting while providing compassionate service to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Record patient history, vital signs, and other relevant information.
- Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer basic clinical tasks such as injections, specimen collection, and EKGs (as permitted).
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and update electronic health records (EHR).
- Handle patient inquiries and provide education on care instructions.
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness and cleanliness.
- Support billing, coding, and insurance documentation as needed.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control, and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems and MS Office applications.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Experience in patient education and administrative support.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Certifications (if any)
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
