  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gastrointestinal/Endoscopy Technician to support physicians and nurses in performing endoscopic procedures. The technician plays a vital role in preparing procedure rooms, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the endoscopy process.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Prepare procedure rooms by setting up endoscopy equipment and supplies according to established protocols.
    2. Assist physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures, ensuring proper handling of instruments and patient care.
    3. Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopy equipment and instruments in accordance with infection control standards.
    4. Monitor and document vital signs and patient responses during procedures as needed.
    5. Maintain accurate logs, procedure documentation, and equipment maintenance records.
    6. Ensure timely availability and proper functioning of all endoscopy-related tools and instruments.
    7. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing procedures.
    8. Adhere to hospital policies, safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

    Required Qualifications
    1. High school diploma or equivalent
    2. Completion of an accredited Endoscopy Technician or Surgical Technician training program
    3. At least 1 year of experience in an endoscopy or surgical setting
    4. Knowledge of endoscopic equipment, sterilization techniques, and procedural protocols
    5. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
    6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Associate degree in a healthcare-related field
    2. Experience with both upper and lower GI procedures
    3. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
    2. Certified Endoscopy Technician (CET) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (preferred)
