Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (Postpartum/Mother-Baby) to provide specialized nursing care to mothers and newborns. This role involves supporting patients during the postpartum period, ensuring safe recovery, and promoting healthy bonding between mother and baby while upholding hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold client policies, procedures, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
- Demonstrate a professional and supportive attitude in all patient and staff interactions.
- Identify and support new ideas to improve patient care and workflow.
- Utilize effective communication strategies, including chain of command and issue escalation.
- Participate in problem identification and resolution across departments.
- Mentor and orient new staff in skill development and professional behavior.
- Prioritize and delegate work assignments to ensure completion of patient care activities.
- Comply with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and standards of practice.
- Perform patient care activities within the scope of practice, considering age-related needs.
- Report unusual findings and contribute recommendations for revisions to care plans.
- Adhere to hospital standards that customize care for mothers and newborns.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current RN License issued by the state or valid multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient safety, and newborn care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program.
- Prior experience in labor & delivery, postpartum, or neonatal care.
Certifications (if any)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
