  • Job Summary
    The Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute medical conditions, post-surgical needs, and cardiac monitoring requirements. The RN delivers high-quality, patient-centered care through continuous assessment, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients.
    2. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, telemetry data, and patient responses to treatment.
    3. Administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
    4. Identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, including cardiac arrhythmias and medical emergencies.
    5. Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care as appropriate.
    6. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
    7. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
    8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    9. Ensure compliance with patient safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory requirements.
    10. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental activities.
    Required Qualifications
    1. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
    2. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    3. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Progressive Care, or Acute Care nursing preferred.
    4. Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring data.
    5. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
    6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    7. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    2. Previous experience in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Step-Down settings.
    3. Experience caring for patients with cardiac, respiratory, and complex medical conditions.
    4. Knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices and patient safety initiatives.
    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
    2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
    3. Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification, preferred.
