Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care in a Surgical Oncology unit, managing patients with complex oncological and post-surgical conditions. Working under general supervision, the RN collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, including chemotherapy administration and oncology-specific treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
- Monitor patient conditions and intervene as necessary
- Administer medications, including chemotherapy as prescribed
- Initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Deliver high-quality care in a surgical oncology setting
- Communicate care plans effectively with patients and families
- Educate patients on treatment plans and procedures
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
- Delegate tasks to support staff appropriately
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN License (Oklahoma or compact state)
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Med-Surg and Step Down experience required
- Oncology and chemotherapy experience required
- ONS/ONCC certification required (Fundamentals may be accepted)

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- ONS/ONCC certification
