JOB SUMMARY Provide occupational therapy services to patients within an inpatient rehabilitation setting, as well as acute care units, to help them regain functional abilities and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for neuro and orthopedic patients in inpatient rehabilitation. - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations and goals. - Provide occupational therapy services for acute care patients, including orthopedic, telemetry, and ICU populations. - Treat patients to improve their motor skills, cognitive abilities, sensory processing, and overall functional independence. - Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner using the designated EMR system. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care. - Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs. - Adapt treatment plans based on patient response and clinical judgment. - Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and professional standards of care.
Schedule / Shift - Days: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Weekend Coverage: Two weekend shifts per month required. Days off during the week will be provided in conjunction with weekend shifts. - Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications - Active Occupational Therapy (OT) License in the state of practice. - In-patient rehabilitation and/or acute hospital experience is required. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in rehabilitation and/or acute hospital settings.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with neuro and orthopedic patient populations. - Experience in acute care settings including Ortho, Telemetry, and ICU. - Bilingual English & Spanish proficiency. - NDT (Neuro-Developmental Treatment) certification. - Brain injury certifications.
Certifications - BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is generally required for direct patient care roles.
Experience - Minimum of 2 years of experience in rehabilitation and/or acute hospital settings.
Skills - Proficient in conducting comprehensive patient evaluations. - Skilled in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans. - Expertise in therapeutic interventions for neuro and orthopedic conditions. - Ability to treat patients across various acute care settings. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong documentation skills.

Floating / On-Call - Required to float to other units as needed. - On-call requirements to be discussed during the interview.
