Job Summary:
The Monitor Technician is responsible for monitoring patients' heart activity and ensuring the timely reporting of any changes to healthcare professionals. This role is crucial in maintaining patient safety and stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) on patients.
- Immediately report any detected changes in heart activity to doctors or nurses.
- Maintain and troubleshoot monitoring equipment and machines.
- Continuously observe heart readings and interpret results to ensure patient health stability.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a Monitor Technician training program.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Requirements: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
