JOB SUMMARY To provide direct patient care and assist physicians during endoscopic procedures.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare the endoscopy suite for procedures. - Set up and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available. - Assist the physician during endoscopic examinations and procedures. - Operate and maintain endoscopic equipment, including cleaning and disinfection. - Position patients appropriately for procedures. - Monitor patients during and immediately after procedures. - Document patient care activities accurately. - Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
Schedule / Shift - Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience - Previous experience as an Endoscopy Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
Skills - Knowledge of endoscopic procedures and equipment. - Ability to assist physicians effectively. - Strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
EMR / Systems - Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
Patient Population - Adult and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
Unit / Specialty - Gastroenterology / Endoscopy Department.
