Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit. The RN will provide specialized care to acutely ill patients requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions. This role demands strong clinical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients requiring intermediate or progressive levels of monitoring
- Perform frequent and comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, neurological checks, and cardiac monitoring
- Monitor, interpret, and document telemetry/EKG rhythms; promptly recognize and respond to arrhythmias
- Safely administer medications, IV drips, and blood products in accordance with physician orders
- Manage advanced medical devices such as central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, and tracheostomies
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient charts and medical records
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
- Respond to emergencies and provide rapid interventions when patient conditions deteriorate
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1–2 years of acute care or progressive care nursing experience
- Strong knowledge of telemetry monitoring and advanced patient care procedures
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Prior experience in a Progressive Care Unit or Intensive Care Unit
