JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team. This role is responsible for providing specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures. The CVOR RN plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, supporting surgeons and anesthesiologists, and maintaining a sterile environment during complex operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and supplies for cardiovascular cases.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, anticipating patient and team needs.
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively, including vital signs and hemodynamic stability.
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control protocols.
• Document patient care, surgical procedures, and intraoperative events accurately.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education related to CVOR practices.

Required Qualifications
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of perioperative nursing experience, with at least 1 year in cardiovascular operating room settings.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, equipment, and sterile techniques.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-acuity, fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Prior experience in a high-volume cardiovascular surgery program.
