JOB SUMMARY
The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with physical impairments, disabilities, or limitations due to injury, illness, or aging. This role involves developing personalized treatment plans to improve mobility, relieve pain, and restore physical function. The Physical Therapist collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and promotes wellness through education and preventive strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions, mobility, strength, and flexibility
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and families on home exercises, injury prevention, and recovery expectations
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, policies, and regulations
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
- Valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy techniques and rehabilitation practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in outpatient, inpatient, or home health settings
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Additional specialty certifications (e.g., Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, Neurologic Clinical Specialist) preferred
