Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to provide inpatient and outpatient lactation support for patients and families. This part-time role requires a minimum of 1 day per week, with Friday coverage at the KOP campus. Additional availability (up to 3 days per week) may include coverage at the Main campus. The position will initially cover for an employee on maternity leave, with potential for conversion to a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert lactation consultation and education to patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized lactation care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient interactions and maintain compliance with facility standards.
- Support patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control protocols.
Required Qualifications
- IBCLC certification (mandatory).
- Minimum of 1 day/week availability, with Friday coverage required at the KOP campus.
- Inpatient and outpatient lactation experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Availability for 3 days/week (Friday at KOP campus + 2 days at Main campus).
- Prior experience in hospital or outpatient lactation programs.
Certifications (if any)
- IBCLC certification (required).
- Additional healthcare licensure (RN, LDN, OT, PT, Respiratory Therapist, Osteopathic Respiratory Therapist, or SLP) accepted backgrounds.
