Job Summary
The Dietitian provides nutritional assessment, counseling, and education to patients, families, and staff. This role develops individualized nutrition care plans, monitors patient progress, and collaborates with healthcare teams to promote optimal health outcomes. The Dietitian ensures compliance with regulatory standards and supports wellness initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ nutritional needs through medical history, lab values, and dietary intake.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
- Provide counseling and education to patients, families, and staff on dietary practices and nutrition-related conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition care into overall treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions as needed.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in medical records according to regulatory standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care planning.
- Support wellness programs and initiatives within the organization.
- Stay current with evidence-based nutrition practices and guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
- Completion of an accredited dietetic internship.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
- Strong communication and counseling skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team environment.
- Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
- Experience in clinical, community, or healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Certifications (if any)
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) required.
- State licensure where applicable.
