Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support the delivery of physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will assist in implementing treatment plans to help patients improve mobility, relieve pain, and restore physical function following injury, illness, or surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and use of assistive devices.
- Monitor and document patient progress and communicate updates to the Physical Therapist.
- Provide feedback to adjust treatment plans as needed for optimal outcomes.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for therapy sessions.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and activities to continue at home.
- Comply with all regulatory and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support overall patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility to practice as a PTA in the state of employment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work closely with a supervising Physical Therapist.
- Strong attention to detail and patient safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in an outpatient, inpatient, or rehabilitation setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
