Job Summary
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes promptly
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient outcomes
Key Responsibilities
• Study patients' charts, medication regimens, and test results upon admission
• Track routine vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry measurements
• Interpret measurements from specialized medical equipment
• Monitor and administer prescribed medication, including titration of drug doses
• Perform diagnostic assessments on changes in measurements and implement designated interventions
• Report deteriorating conditions to healthcare specialists and follow intervention instructions
• Update and maintain ward charts, patient files, and medical records
• Oversee nursing assistants and support staff in the Progressive Care Unit
• Explain treatments and procedures to patients and their families, addressing any questions
Required Qualifications
• Education: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) or BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant nursing role
• Requirements: COVID vaccine required
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience working in a Progressive Care Unit setting
Certifications
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Active RN license for Georgia State or compact state
