  • Job Summary  
    The CVOR Registered Nurse provides specialized perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures. This role requires advanced clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure safe and effective patient care in the operating room.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide direct patient care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgical procedures.
    2. Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists in the operating room, ensuring sterile technique and adherence to surgical protocols.
    3. Monitor patients’ vital signs and responses to anesthesia and surgical interventions
    4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
    5. Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
    6. Document patient care accurately and in compliance with hospital policies.
    7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
    8. Educate patients and families on pre- and post-operative care.
    9. Adhere to infection control and patient safety standards.
    10. Support emergency interventions as required.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
    2. Current RN license issued by the applicable state board of nursing.
    3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
    5. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    7. Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    2. Prior experience in cardiovascular operating room nursing.
    3. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) credential.
    4. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, if applicable.

    Certifications
    1. RN license (state-specific).
    2. BLS certification (American Heart Association).
    3. ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
    4. CNOR certification preferred.
    5. PALS certification preferred.
