Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, including monitoring, treatment administration, and coordination with healthcare teams. This role focuses on managing patients with diverse medical conditions while utilizing telemetry systems to monitor cardiac activity and respond to clinical changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and report any changes
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Provide wound care, IV therapy, and post-operative care
- Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare team members
- Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Manage multiple patients with diverse medical diagnoses
- Monitor cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment
- Recognize and respond to abnormal heart rhythms or medical emergencies
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
