  • JOB SUMMARY
    Provides direct patient care in a Medical-Surgical unit, overseeing daily operations and guiding nursing staff during night shifts.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Assume charge nurse responsibilities for the Medical-Surgical unit during assigned shifts.
    • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.
    • Monitor patient status, administer medications, and implement treatment plans as prescribed.
    • Supervise and mentor Charge Nurse, RN, LPN, and CNA staff, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
    • Respond to patient needs, emergencies, and physician orders in a timely and effective manner.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
    • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
    • Manage unit workflow, prioritize patient assignments, and address staffing needs.

    Schedule / Shift
    • Night Shifts: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM
    • Requires working every other weekend.

    Required Qualifications
    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
    • Proficiency in handling adult medical and surgical patient populations.

    Experience
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
    • Previous experience in a charge nurse role is required.

    • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent leadership and delegation abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
    • Familiarity with charge nurse responsibilities and unit management.
