  • Job Summary
    The Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges. This role is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans to support patients’ emotional and physical well-being in collaboration with an interdisciplinary treatment team.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
    2. Administer medications and monitor patient responses, ensuring adherence to treatment plans.
    3. Provide therapeutic interventions, crisis management, and emotional support to patients.
    4. Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
    5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records.
    6. Monitor and ensure patient safety, including participation in de-escalation and behavioral management as needed.
    7. Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and medication management.
    8. Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to discharge planning and follow-up care.
    9. Adhere to all hospital policies, psychiatric nursing standards, and safety protocols.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    2. Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a psychiatric, behavioral health, or mental health setting.
    3. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
    4. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
    2. Experience in inpatient psychiatric, substance abuse, or dual diagnosis programs.
    3. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, and therapeutic communication.

    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    2. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certifications preferred.
