JOB SUMMARY
Seeking a qualified Operating Room Technician for a dynamic surgical services department. This role requires a skilled and adaptable professional to provide excellent patient care during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operative and diagnostic procedures.
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Handle and pass instruments, sponges, and sutures.
- Set up and maintain specialized equipment.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Schedule / Shift
- 36-hour work week with 12-hour shifts.
- Day shift typically starts at 7:00 AM.
- Night shifts typically start at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM (likely referring to 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM).
- Every third weekend coverage as needed.
- Every other holiday coverage.
- On-call rotation: 1 on-call shift per schedule.

Required Qualifications
- Must possess a positive attitude, be flexible, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Must be competent in at least 5 of the listed surgical services.

Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of inpatient surgery experience.
- Level 1 trauma experience is required.
- Demonstrated trauma experience is mandatory.

Certifications
- NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) certification is required; no other certification is accepted.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.

- Competency in general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, oral surgery, otolaryngology, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiac surgery, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatric surgery, trauma surgery, and spine surgery.

- Number of operating rooms: 22.
- OR is staffed 24/7.

Floating / On-Call
- May float to other OR campuses if needed.
- May float to Moakley campus if needed.
- On-call: 1x per schedule (1 instance of on-call coverage required within a given scheduling period).
