  • Job Summary
    The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for administering intravenous medications, biologics, blood products, hydration therapies, and other infusion treatments in a safe and effective manner. The RN assesses patient conditions, monitors treatment responses, educates patients and caregivers, and collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Assess patients prior to infusion therapy and review physician orders, treatment plans, and laboratory results.
    • Administer intravenous medications, biologics, blood products, hydration therapies, and prescribed infusion treatments.
    • Monitor patients during and after infusions for adverse reactions or complications.
    • Initiate, maintain, and manage peripheral and central venous access devices.
    • Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, medications, and potential side effects.
    • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, medication safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage infusion supplies and ensure proper handling and storage of medications.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in Infusion Therapy, Oncology, Acute Care, Medical-Surgical, or a related clinical setting preferred.
    • Knowledge of intravenous therapy, vascular access devices, and medication administration practices.
    • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
    • Ability to recognize and manage infusion-related reactions and emergencies.
    • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    • Previous experience in an Infusion Center, Oncology, Hematology, Rheumatology, or Specialty Clinic setting.
    • Experience with PICC lines, central venous catheters, and implanted ports.
    • Knowledge of specialty medications and infusion therapy protocols.
    Certifications
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
    • Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI®) Certification, preferred.
    • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) Certification, preferred.
