Job Summary
The Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry provides comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and medical-surgical interventions. This role involves interpreting telemetry data, administering treatments, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients with complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring and medical-surgical support.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and vital signs to detect changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications and therapies including IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation ensuring compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards.
- Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Minimum of 1–2 years nursing experience, preferably in telemetry or medical-surgical units.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in telemetry or progressive care units.
- Strong background in cardiac and respiratory care.
- Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Certifications
- BLS required.
- ACLS required.
- NIHSS preferred.
Note- Travel Experience Required
