  • Job Summary
    The Operating Room Technician plays a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures. This position is responsible for preparing and maintaining sterile operating rooms, supporting surgeons and the surgical team during operations, and contributing to high-quality patient care.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Prepare sterile operating rooms prior to surgeries.
    2. Sterilize surgical equipment and instruments according to established protocols.
    3. Stock and maintain adequate supplies for surgical procedures.
    4. Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
    5. Provide intraoperative support by passing instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants.
    6. Track and manage surgical supplies to ensure availability and accuracy.
    7. Stay current with surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedural standards.
    8. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses, and the broader surgical team.
    9. Contribute to excellent patient care by maintaining safety and efficiency throughout procedures.

    Required Qualifications
    1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
    2. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or Operating Room Technician program.
    3. Knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
    4. Strong organizational and communication skills.
    5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Prior experience as an Operating Room Technician or Surgical Technologist.
    2. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
    3. Certification in surgical technology preferred.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    2. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred.
