Key Responsibilities - Prepare operating rooms, including sterilizing instruments, equipment, and supplies. - Arrange equipment and supplies in a sterile and organized manner. - Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operations by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures. - Maintain and manage the sterile field throughout the surgical procedure. - Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and provide necessary items promptly. - Monitor patient status and provide basic care as directed. - Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures. - Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after use. - Adhere to sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
Schedule / Shift Variable shifts, including potential for nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED. - Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program. - Current BLS certification.
Experience - Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
Skills - Proficient in sterile techniques and surgical procedures. - Ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
