Job Summary:
The Occupational Registered Nurse will provide nursing assessments, treatments, and recommendations for Client employees related to illness or injury within the Registered Nurse scope of practice. This role is responsible for delivering on-site occupational health services, including medical assessments, documentation, treatment planning, and employee education, while ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, privacy standards, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care including vital signs assessment, injury and illness evaluation, documentation, treatment planning, and medical interventions within RN scope of practice
- Document and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with OSHA or applicable country/national regulations, ensuring privacy and confidentiality
- Support the site’s Medical Emergency Response Program
- Manage disability cases by coordinating with insurance carriers, Client Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Safety teams, and company physicians/providers
- Ensure effective case management for work-related illnesses and injuries
- Support absence management using Client’s PIIM (Post Injury and Illness Management) program to facilitate early and safe return-to-work accommodations
- Assist with tracking and managing FMLA requests in accordance with medical information, company policy, and legal requirements
- Perform regulatory-required medical surveillance exams per OSHA or equivalent standards
- Participate in Client Health and Safety programs and initiatives, including 24/7 Safety & Health programs (e.g., smoking cessation, fitness programs, blood drives, flu shots, wellness activities)
- Participate in pandemic preparedness planning
- Interact externally with Occupational Medical Providers as needed
- Maintain responsibility for managing medical inventory and supplies
Required Skills:
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to provide timely and effective clinical documentation and employee education
- Strong organizational and case management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of occupational health regulations and workplace safety standards
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of Registered Nurse experience
Occupational Health experience preferred
Certifications & Licensure:
Active and current state Registered Nurse license
Current CPR certification
