  • Job Summary  
    The Cardiac Cath Radiographer provides imaging support during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. This role involves preparing patients, operating radiographic equipment, ensuring image quality, and assisting physicians and nurses in delivering safe and effective cardiovascular care.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures and explain imaging processes.
    • Operate radiographic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images during procedures.
    • Assist physicians with imaging guidance during interventional procedures such as angioplasty and stent placement.
    • Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and protective measures.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot radiographic equipment to ensure readiness.
    • Document imaging activities and patient information accurately in medical records.
    • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and technologists to provide coordinated patient care.
    • Monitor patient status and provide support during procedures.
    • Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
    2. Current Radiographer license/certification in [state/region].
    3. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    4. Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques.
    5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    6. Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Experience with interventional cardiology procedures.
    2. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
    3. Advanced training in electrophysiology or peripheral vascular imaging.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
    2. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – preferred.
    3. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification – required.
    4. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) – preferred.
