Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care services to patients with breathing disorders and cardiopulmonary conditions. The RRT will evaluate, treat, and educate patients while collaborating with healthcare teams to improve respiratory function and patient outcomes. This role requires expertise in respiratory therapy techniques, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ respiratory status and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, aerosol treatments, and airway management.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Perform diagnostic testing such as arterial blood gases (ABGs) and pulmonary function tests.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care, disease management, and use of equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, patient progress, and equipment usage.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations such as cardiac and respiratory arrest.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
- Valid state respiratory therapy license.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care techniques and equipment.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, or neonatal/pediatric respiratory therapy.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Certifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
