  • Job Summary
    The Transportation Coordinator leads and manages day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring the timely, safe, and professional delivery and pickup of surgical instruments. This role combines leadership, logistics expertise, and operational coordination to maintain high standards of performance and customer service.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Manage daily transportation schedules and coordinate all routes to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups.
    2. Supervise Transportation Technicians, providing coaching, feedback, and performance support.
    3. Monitor compliance with transportation policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
    4. Serve as the primary point of contact for all transportation-related matters within the facility.
    5. Resolve daily operational issues and escalate urgent concerns as necessary.
    6. Ensure vehicles and equipment are properly maintained, inspected, and operationally ready.
    7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align deliveries with client needs.
    8. Track logistics metrics and maintain records related to routes, schedules, and performance.
    9. Foster a team culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
    10. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    1. Direct supervision of Transportation Technicians.
    2. Travel Requirements: Occasional local travel; daily operations are conducted on-site.
    3. Working Conditions: Active operations environment with exposure to traffic, weather conditions, and healthcare settings. Office and warehouse-based coordination may be required.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in transportation, logistics, or operational coordination.
    2. At least one (1) year of team leadership or supervisory experience.
    3. Experience supervising or leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
    4. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
    5. Clear, professional communication skills (written and verbal).
    6. High attention to detail regarding scheduling, safety, and documentation.
    7. Proficiency with GPS and route planning tools; familiarity with tech-based scheduling systems.
    8. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to implement effective solutions quickly.
    9. High school diploma or equivalent.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Experience in healthcare logistics or sterile processing environments.
    2. Relevant coursework in logistics.
    3. Degree in operations or business.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Required: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR).
