  • Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical/Orthopedic team. The RN will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients across multiple inpatient units, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, Ortho/Neuro, and Sub-Acute Units. This position is ideal for nurses with strong clinical skills, flexibility, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care in a collaborative hospital environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
    2. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established policies, procedures, and state nursing practice standards.
    3. Develop, initiate, and carry out individualized plans of care based on physician orders and patient needs.
    4. Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes according to hospital and regulatory standards.
    5. Provide patient and family education regarding care plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
    6. Participate in performance improvement and shared governance initiatives within the unit.
    7. Apply critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and enhance the overall patient experience.
    8. Float as needed to support Medical, Surgical/Peds, Ortho/Neuro, and Sub-Acute Units.
    9. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Licensure: Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State.

    Certifications:
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification (required).
    2. NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required).
    3. Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of recent acute care or medical-surgical nursing experience.
    4. Vaccination: Must be vaccinated for Influenza (Flu) in accordance with facility requirements.
    5. Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
    6. Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient care needs and float between multiple inpatient units.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Prior experience in orthopedic, neurological, or surgical nursing settings.
    2. Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Epic preferred).
    3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

    Certifications
    1. Required: BLS/CPR, NIHSS
    2. Preferred: ACLS
