JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery is responsible for providing compassionate and comprehensive care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. This role involves monitoring maternal and fetal health, assisting with childbirth procedures, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for families.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor vital signs and fetal heart rates during labor.
- Administer medications and IVs as prescribed.
- Assist physicians during labor and delivery procedures.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
- Document patient care accurately and timely.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment in the delivery room.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Labor and Delivery or related field.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience with high-risk pregnancies and neonatal care.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
