  • Job Summary:
    The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering safe and accurate radiation treatments to cancer patients as part of a multidisciplinary oncology team. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, empathy, and communication skills to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care throughout their treatment process.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide individualized radiation therapy treatments to patients, in consultation with the oncology team.
    • Explain the treatment process to patients, addressing their questions and concerns to ensure comfort and understanding.
    • Administer radiation therapies according to detailed patient treatment plans.
    • Utilize medical imaging equipment to verify and ensure precise delivery of treatments.
    • Assess patients' reactions to radiation treatments, advising them on side effects and methods of alleviating discomfort.
    • Monitor patient progress and recommend adjustments to treatment plans when necessary.
    • Offer ongoing support to patients and their families, addressing any emotional or physical challenges they may face.
    • Perform regular quality assurance checks on simulation and treatment machines to ensure functionality and safety.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field.
    • Proven experience working as a Radiation Therapist in a clinical or hospital setting.
    • Proficiency in using medical imaging and radiation therapy equipment.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction.
    • Exceptional hand-eye coordination for precise and accurate treatment delivery.
    • Ability to provide empathetic care while maintaining professionalism.
    • Meticulous attention to detail in treatment planning and execution.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (or equivalent certification).
    • Previous experience in a similar oncology-focused role.
    • Familiarity with the latest radiation therapy techniques and technologies.

    Certifications:
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in Radiation Therapy (preferred but not required).
    • CPR and First Aid Certification.
