Job Description:

  • JOB SUMMARY:
    The Occupational Registered Nurse will provide nursing assessments, treatments, and recommendations for client's employees related to illness or injury within their Scope of Practice. Responsibilities include medical care, documentation, treatment planning, education, and performing interventions within the RN scope of practice.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Document and maintain records in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) or equivalent regulations, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
    • Support the site’s medical Emergency Response Program.
    • Manage disability process by coordinating with insurance carriers, Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Safety, and Company Physician/Provider for effective case management.
    • Utilize client’s PIIM program for absence management, enabling early and safe return to work with monitored accommodations.
    • Assist with tracking and managing FMLA requests based on medical and legal protocols.
    • Perform regulatory-required surveillance exams per OSHA or similar standards.
    • Participate in client Health and Safety Programs, including 24/7 Safety & Health initiatives (e.g., smoking cessation, fitness programs, flu shots).
    • Contribute to pandemic preparedness planning.
    • Interact with external Occupational Medical Providers as needed.
    • Manage medical inventory and ensure compliance.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum 5+ years of Registered Nurse experience; Occupational Health experience preferred.
    • Active and current state RN license.
    • Current CPR Certification.
    • BSN – bachelor’s degree in nursing.
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Electronic Medical Records.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S).
    • Experience in Emergency Room, ICU, or Med/Surg nursing.
    • Creative approach to promoting health and safety activities.
    • Prior experience in a manufacturing or corporate health environment.
    Location:
    • Onsite at manufacturing locations in NY (e.g., Corning, Addison, Painted Post).
    • Day shifts available, Monday–Friday, with occasional off-shift hours.
