JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides specialized care to patients who are critically ill but stable enough to not require intensive care. This role involves continuous monitoring, timely interventions, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and prevent deterioration.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients with acute and chronic conditions requiring intermediate care.
 - Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed.
 - Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
 - Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
 - Respond to changes in patient conditions with appropriate nursing interventions.
 - Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
 - Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
 - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
 
Required Qualifications
- 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience.
 - Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
 - Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
 - Basic Life Support (BLS).
 - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
 
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
